As a young dancer at Debra Collier’s School of Dance in Warsaw, Indiana, Annie discovered how Yoga supported her dance training. At the age of 16 years old, Annie became a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance by Joni McCarran at Studio Seva in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Annie studied the pillars of Yoga and various practices including Hatha and Aerial Yoga. Shortly after, Annie was directly admitted into Indiana University-Bloomington’s BFA Contemporary Dance Program. There she studied Dance and Arts Management and earned her bachelor's degree in three years.
After receiving her Yoga Certification, Annie continued teaching and sought new educational opportunities that would benefit students and clients. For this reason, Annie received her Sports Nutrition Certification through the International Sports Sciences Association. She focused on diet and exercise for optimal health. Annie’s goals are to customize each session for the student. As an advocate for wellness, Annie has experience discussing the body’s function in greater depth for clients to succeed.
More recently, Annie completed a 600-hour comprehensive course for a certification in the Joseph Pilates method of physical conditioning at Lotus Pilates Center LLC from Corinna Cosentino in Bloomington, Indiana. This certification includes extensive knowledge in the intentions of Joseph Pilates for the most effective and beneficial teaching.
Overall, Annie created Equipoise to cultivate balance and support students' goals and lifestyle. Through Yoga and Pilates clients will learn sustainable life skills.
Along with launching Equipoise, Annie is proud to teach Dance and Yoga at Debra Collier’s School of Dance. Check out https://www.collierdance.com/ to sign up!
