Make Your Man Happy: Mississippi Pot Roast

Red meat is supposedly not good for you, however, Paul Saladino, on both Joe Rogan and The Skinny Confidential podcasts is turning the tables. He suggests a meat and fruit-only diet is not just a new fad, but the historic way our ancestors ate. My red meat lover of a husband is thrilled to hear someone sticking up for the cows. The recipe below is by no means the most healthy or follows in any way the meat eater’s diet. Nonetheless, it’s one of my family’s favorites (and mine too). My husband and I have this Mississippi Pot Roast crockpot meal every week. It makes your man happy and most importantly makes cooking easy for YOU!

Prep time — 10 minutes, Cook time — 6-8 hours

Ingredients:

2-3lb chuck pot roast

1 stick of butter

1 packet of ranch seasoning (OG)

1 pack of Aus Jus gravy seasoning

1/2 jar of sliced banana peppers

Directions:

Get out your crockpot and spray Pam on the inside bowl for easy cleanup. Turn the crockpot on low. While the pot heats up, cut the fat off your roast. Place the fatless roast into the crockpot, and add your stick of butter (cut into quarters), seasoning packets, and banana peppers (add juice to your liking). Cook the roast on low for 6-8 hours. Perfect to start at lunchtime and be ready when you’re back from work! Serve over mashed potatoes.
